Lethaby Windows: 3 week end

So the windows project finished it’s three allocated weeks on Monday. It is not quite done yet but all the same here is what it ended up as:

gianticebox.co.uk/csm2/

Still a few things to be done before I am happy with it being finished but I guess it is live right now and maybe people are using it? I don’t know as I only just installed analytics on it a minute ago. Things to be done are

  • finish taking all the photos obviously [almost the whole top three floors are done, but there are lots more windows left]
  • edit blurb text a little
  • make more clear that the postcards are real not digital
  • change the layout of the intro page to include some visual reference to postcards [I think]
  • perhaps some more usability tweaks to the viewing page

So yeah it is almost done and pretty cool. Thinking about what needs to be done to finish it makes me think about the last project more and how that also needs tweaks to be final. I really want/need an iphone to keep on with these kinds of projects… It would cost about 350 quid more a year than my current piece of shit: maybe.

So on friday I start my redesign brief with Sheena. I have to re-do one brief from this year [choice of 5] and I’m going to re-continue with ‘database as language’. I know Sheena will have useful philosophical input as to the aims and problems with ‘the london markmaking archive’ and the half idea I have to develop. Should be good…

Lethaby progress

Here are 3 slides to present how I’m doing on this project. It’s going pretty alright.

Lethaby with Amanda: Part 1

I forgot about this blog so better get back on it. Latest brief is Amanda’s brief to create some kind of memorial or tribute to our current home at CSM which is a significant building in the history of London art education. It is also a pretty rad building. I plan to create a kind of portrait of perspective exploring how I perceive the building from the inside and how that potentially affects my work and life. The main of my project is to photograph each and every window in the whole building. Not sure about the rest yet but I guess it’s a book.
